As a preview to this summer’s Musical Theater program, Erin Lane will be teaching a song and dance workshop for kids via Facebook Live at 2:00-2:30 p.m. Central on Saturday, March 21. Erin, Director of the CedarS Musical Theater Program and Assistant Professor of Dance at Principia College, will teach an excerpt of a song from this summer’s musical Peter Pan!

Recommended: comfortable clothing and a little open space.

Coming Up: CedarS 365 Hymn Sing

You are invited to a CedarS 365 Hymn Sing this Sunday, March 22nd, from 7:00-7:30pm Central.
Format: The Hymn Sing will be hosted by CedarS counselor, Stephen Hanlin, and his family. Like at camp, we’ll take requests for seven hymns, followed by the Doxology, and finally the CedarS song, led by Warren. We’ll be using a Zoom meeting interface so that people can see one another on the screen, displayed in Brady Bunch grid format, united from around the world. (Of course, you’ll have the option to display your video or join by audio only).
  • Wear your CedarS t-shirt, sweatshirt, staff shirt, etc.
  • Bring a hymnal or go to Concord online to look up hymns. They offer a 30-day free trial account.
  • Invite your friends! All are welcome.
  • Download and test Zoom at zoom.us. It’s free.
  • Come ready to sing, experience healing, and see friends across the globe.

Upcoming offerings with younger campers (1st-7th graders) in mind:


  • Thursday, 3/19, 2pm Central: Camp songs sing-along with Stephen Hanlin
  • Friday, 3/20, 2pm Central: Tour of the horse herd with Riding Director Kiersten Thompson
  • Saturday, 3/20, 2pm Central: A Peter Pan song and dance workshop with Musical Theater Director Erin Lane
  • Sunday evening Hymn Sing for all ages— details coming soon!
  • Additional class topics could include: How to mark your CS books with Christie Hanzlik, CS; sports skills classes with our coaches and counselors; testimony writing; a Maker Faire activity with Dr. Marie Farson; The Bible with its meanings for today shared by time-traveler Moses & others; horse theory with Kiersten Thompson; and more!


Each class will begin with a CedarS-style “Met,” just like we do at camp. Join us at this blog or via Facebook. (Some of these sessions may be recorded).

CedarS 365: Take CedarS Home

Tuesday, March 17th, 2020
Starting this week, we’ll offer a daily class for campers to enjoy from home! Join us from 2:00-2:30 p.m. CST (unless otherwise noted) for a camp activity taught by CedarS staff. Activities for elementary and middle school aged campers to include camp sing-a-longs, crafts, and learning horse care. In true CedarS fashion, each activity will begin with a metaphysical idea and aim to help give “an appreciation of spiritual sense and an abundance of wholesome, joyous activity.” Join us for activities on Facebook Live or return here to our blog where we’ll post most sessions.


Our first CedarS 365 activity will be taught by one of our most musical staff members, Stephen Hanlin! He will be leading camp songs via Facebook Live on Thursday, March 19th, at 2:00 p.m. CST. We hope you can join us!
